Planning Tips |Invitation Etiquette
Happy Monday everyone! Emily McCarthy of Emma J Design created this handy guide of invitation wording dos and don’ts and I wanted to share. I know with our less formal couples adjustments are made for many of the rules but this is such a great tool nonetheless!

Bridal Market |Lace, Pleats, Romance Oh My!
New York's Bridal Fashion Week has come to an end. We've been watching the reveal of the Fall 2013 Bridal collections and yes we are still drooling (no shame here) over these gorgeous designs. Such beautiful lace, pleated veils, truly a touch of romance and a yes to sleeves. Here are just a few of our favorite designers that hit the runway. We think you can agree with us that they are all breathtakingly beautiful!
Who is your favorite designer?

The Team!
Happy Monday! Many of you know that I have a team behind me. Early this summer I dreamt of professional headshots with Melissa Oho and Melissa T (there's definitely something special about Melissas)! So on a pretty hot day (can you tell?!) We headed downtown Minneapolis and ended our evening at Saffron with a fun dinner. We loved working with Melissa Oholendt Photography and Melissa T Hair & Makeup of The Beauty Lounge Minneapolis. They both did such an amazing job and we can't thank them enough!
Meet Cristina, our residential go-to girl
via Melissa Oholendt Photography |
She is our people person, our couple concierge on the day of. She’s our go-to girl, assisting with day-to-day business and more. If you aren't getting an email from me, you are from Cristina. She’s been a tremendous help! She had fun interning here and neither of us have looked back since. Her favorite Urbane Montage moment? Working alongside a lot of great Twin Cities artists with our recent events and styled shoots. To see the finish product of our collaborations turn out so beautiful makes those memories stand out.
Meet Susan, our set-up guru
via Melissa Oholendt Photography |
Susan has been there from the beginning, she’s our production manager! When there’s something that needs to be done and fast she’s THE Point. Of. Contact. Oh, and she’s also my sister :) She’s one of the best decision I've made for the business. She is quick witted and ready to serve. She's our set-up guru. Her favorite Urbane Montage moment? Seeing the groom's face as the bride walks down the aisle and how truly happy they are together. In that moment the couple's only care in the world is to unite and become one.

It’s Our Anniversary!
Happy Monday! Yesterday marked our Anniversary and just as many of you would on your respective anniversaries I thought, “Wow. The year has gone by so fast”. Then I reflected on what God has offered in the past year. I’m so blessed and thankful to say that I’ve worked with some wonderful couples and great artists. Couples that love each other more than I could have ever imagined and artists that truly love what they do. It doesn’t get better than that, well actually it does J . I’ve fallen in love with this industry and that love grows each day. I am truly grateful that I love what I do! I have an amazing team by my side to make sure we produce awesome events, have lots of laughs in the process and I’ve achieved countless goals with their help. Not every day is a walk in the park but the ability to walk and still have a smile on my face says it all.
I want to THANK YOU all
for allowing us to be a part of your day, your trust, your support, your
friendship, your encouragement, your (constructive) criticism, prompt response
to emails, hardball questions, and for those who plain said “No”. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

You all have shaped Urbane
Montage into what it has grown, is growing, to be and for that I celebrate. I
leave you with this image of us in our element, thanks to Melissa Oholendt
(more to come!) and a few quotes that I hold on as I write my
goals, dreams and aspirations for this New Year:
“Today you are You, that is truer
than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” Dr. Seuss
“Do is better than Perfect.” Scott Allen
“Don’t
be afraid to fail. Be afraid not to try.” Michael Jordan
“Be
undeniably good. Be so good they can’t ignore you.” Steve Martin
“When
love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece.” John
Ruskin
“Your playing small does not serve
the world.” Marianne Williamson
“Every no gets you closer to a yes-
A yes to what matters”
“For I know the plans I have for
you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
